Families are welcomed to enjoy a Victorian-themed market coming to Luton town centre as part of the St George’s Day celebrations marking the town’s 150th year of borough status, thanks to headline sponsor Luton Rising, the council’s airport company.

Location: Market Hill, George Street (just outside the centre)
There will be plenty of free Victorian-themed activities throughout the day for families of all ages to get involved with including:
- A 12ft tall mechanical dragon blowing bubbles and playing music
- Live medieval music
- Children’s carousel
- Street performers, including a glorious penny farthing attraction and a magician
- Funfair games
- Costume dress up
- Victorian Luton photo exhibition
- Crafting workshops including painting and straw splitting, a technique of the time used in the famous Lutonian hat industry
